New Utility Agreement Forms

All home owners must complete a Utility Agreement form in order to have a utility account set up to receive water, sewer, and garbage services for the property. Owner Utility Agreement

For renters, the utility account needs to be set up in the name of the landlord and the Renter's Utility Agreement must be completed by both the owner and renter for the renter to receive copies of the utility bills. Renter Utility Agreement

The Village Office offers a debit machine to make payments at the office.

Credit cards can be used for payment, however will be charged a fee of 2.5%.

You can also make payments through online banking.
Whenever possible, please pay your
Village of Acme bills through your online banking account.
To pay online:

Log in to your online banking.

Pay bill online.
-
Set up new payee. It will be under "Village of Acme" or "Acme Village of" or "Acme (Village)".

Select Utilities (even if you are paying your taxes).

A. Use your Utility Account Number*.
B. Use your Tax Roll Number*.
*PLEASE NOTE: The account number must be 5 digits - if your account number is only 3 or 4 digits, add a "00" or "0" before your account number to equal 5 digits. -
Make your payment online and it will be deposited directly into the Village of Acme's account. Please allow 2-3 business days for the money to be deposited into the Village account.

Water and Sewer Information

Water and Sewer is billing every two months: February, April, June, August, October, and December.

Water Accounts must be set up at the Village Office upon purchasing of a property in town.

Water accounts must be set up in the name of the property owner - it cannot be in a renter's name.

Unpaid water bills will result in your water being shut off until the account is paid in full.

Curb stops are located on each property and must be accessible at all times as per the Village of Acme's Water and Wastewater Bylaw.
Building Fences/Decks

Please refer to the Village of Acme's Land Use Bylaw in regards to any questions you have regarding any building that you want to do on your property: fences, decks, sheds, garages, etc.

Do you need a building permit? Please refer to the Safety Codes Council's Do I need a building permit? pamphlet to help you determine the whether you need a building permit or not. When in doubt, contact the Village Office to clarify for you.
Garbage Pick Up

Garbage is picked up every Wednesday for residential and every Friday for businesses.

Garbage must be out by 8:00 am to ensure it is picked up.

Animals and Pets

All pets must be registered at the Village Office and an animal license purchased as per the Village of Acme's Animal Control Bylaw.

The maximum number of animals in a single-family dwelling or household is restricted to four (4) with no more than three (3) dogs or three (3) cats over the age of three (3) months.

No livestock or poultry are permitted within the Village of Acme. This includes: cows, horses, goats ,donkeys, sheep, pigs, chickens, or any other animal that is considered livestock or poultry.
Property Taxes

Those who have their taxes paid up to date are eligible to sign up for the Village of Acme's TIPPS program.

This program allows you to make monthly payments on your property taxes.

If you are eligible for the TIPPS program, you can register for monthly auto-withdrawal.
